Queen's Birthday - Cathedral Cove - Coromandel

It was Queen's Birthday weekend so we took the oportunity to do a little traveling. We went to Tauranga for the night and swam at the INDOOR wave pool. A massive cold front has hit New Zealand. It was in the low 30's in the morning, and low 50's at midday. So swimming in the ocean was out of the question so we headed to Cathedral Cove (150km north of Tauranga). Have you seen Prince Caspian? If so, this is the location where they entered Narnia. It is heavenly!

It was a 45 minute tramp eachway to the cove, and the views were spectacular...

Even Ella did some walking. Maddi ended up carrying her little sister most of the way back...uphill! Good on you mate!

Danny and Andy ended the day with a brave swim in the ocean at Hot Water Beach which is a misnomer it was freezing! Air temp 54, water temp 62 F.
